“I wish I had known that I wasn’t alone, and that I didn’t have to make it a big secret. I wish I had known that it was okay to cry, and that I didn’t have to wipe the tears and snot from my face with my sleeve so the nurses wouldn’t judge me. They weren’t judging me, they were only there to help. I wish I had known that it was okay to mourn my loss, because truly it was a loss and it still is….”
