Abortion Story #359: Kelsey’s story

Roar will publish a first-person story about abortion, “My Abortion: A Daily Story,” every day for at least 365 days. The below excerpt is from Kelsey’s story. She opens up about ending a wanted pregnancy, speaking straightforwardly about what it was like to learn of a terminal fetal diagnosis. Note: Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf later vetoed the bill that would have banned abortion after twenty weeks of pregnancy.


“…My doctors provided me with options and made it clear the decision was mine to make. After the initial waves of shock and sadness, I chose to end the pregnancy at 21 weeks, 6 days so that my baby would not live to know only pain and suffering. It was my most difficult decision ever…”
