Abortion Story #307: Miranda’s story

Roar will publish a first-person story about abortion, “My Abortion: A Daily Story,” every day for at least 365 days. The following excerpt begins Miranda’s abortion story. She speaks of being a mom and not regretting her decision. Miranda also opens up about feeling uneasy over her boyfriend’s response to her decision, but shares how he showed his support for her in the end. “On a Friday, I came home from work, picked up my child from school, and stopped at a drugstore. I bought two juices one for each of my children, a bottle of water, and a box that contained two pregnancy tests. We came home and I talked to my boyfriend. Like always, our daughter told him about her day. I took this chance and walked into my bathroom. I looked at the box wondering the worst.

I sat down on my toilet and peed on the stick. I capped it and sat it on my bathroom vanity counter, walked back to my boyfriend to talk some more about work while he was playing a video game. It was a typical Friday for us….”
