Abortion Story #252: Violeta’s story

Roar will publish a first-person story about abortion, “My Abortion: A Daily Story,” every day for at least 365 days. “When I was 17, I had an abortion in a country where it was and still is illegal, my grandmother was next to me, holding my hand, it wasn’t easy for any of us, but she made sure I had the right to choose the time of my motherhood. She made sure that a mistake wouldn’t define my life. That day I understood that it was my body and my choice, a fundamental human right, denied to most women in the world, the right to have an abortion…”
