“My ex-husband and I were both raised in really conservative families, and so we didn’t use birth control. We had three children in three years and were in the process of legally separating when I realized that my exhaustion and depression weren’t just due to the breakup. I was pregnant, again. Until a friend mentioned the possibility, I truly had never even considered an abortion. I was raised in a household where we prayed for the unborn babies in heaven every single night. I was like, wait, you mean I don’t have to have four kids under four years old? I don’t have to struggle with poverty while raising four kids?…”
