Star musician Sampha will soon release a zine titled Shy Light, a wide exploration of his connections to Sierra Leone. A possible reading of this project considers tethers to one’s body: home as a place from which one generates (however distant in miles or time), and home as a place with a bearable melancholy. Following the mudslides and flooding in Freetown that killed hundreds, Sampha will now donate all proceeds to Street Child, an NGO benefitting children in need of all forms of shelter. A preview of the zine is available here.
