For us in the West Coast, abortion is a daily occurrence. We march and rally to defend our reproductive rights. The story is quite different in the heartland. However, when needing an abortion, women in Wichita, KS struggle to find the most basic reproductive services.
This is not a first person abortion story. It comes from Trust Women Foundation, a brave organization leading pro-choice and reproductive rights justice in Wichita, KS.
This is the story of a community struggling to provide safe reproductive services to women in Wichita, KS.
The following 23 minutes documentary, “Attitude is Everything,” tells the story of Wichita’s last abortion provider, his murder, and the most recent effort to re-establish abortion clinics in the area. In minute 14:35 Miriam also tells her own abortion story and how the assassinated doctor helped her.
